About This Fund

The Hattie Jones and Evelyn Simms Scholarship was created in memory of Pastor John's mother-in-law (Evelyn) and her best friend (Hattie). Its purpose is to make education more accessible for minority students.

For Applicants

Application Deadline: Sunday, June 30

Applications are now open. This scholarship is awarded to 10 students each year and will be paid directly to their educational institution toward tuition for undergraduate programs. Students are eligible to apply for the award each year they are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program. The application deadline is Sunday, June 30.

We created this fund to honor the 25-year friendship between Evelyn and Hattie. These funds will be used to help individuals suffering from racial injustice and to support organizations fighting against racial injustice.
