The Sentencing Project (TSP) advocates for effective and humane responses to crime that minimize imprisonment and criminalization of youth and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, economic and gender justice. We conduct research, advocacy, and public education that changes the national narrative around crime, punishment and public safety. To best advance racial justice and transformation of the criminal legal system, we focus on three key policy priorities: ending extreme sentences, expanding voting rights, and promoting youth justice.
